Spring pictures are on Monday, March 25th at 0940!
Here's what's going on in class.
Language Arts: Our unit on the theme of survival has been the most fun unit of the year! We're reading gripping tales, watching a fun and adventurous movie, we've had survival experts come and talk and we've been writing a super fun journal from a dog's perspective!
Our next unit is focus on the American Revolution and will be both our next language arts unit and social studies unit.
Math: We just started our unit on volume, geometry and measurement. It's been so much fun! One student even said, "This is math?"
We've been building with blocks and counting them to find volume. We have also constructed "nets" (see pictures below) to calculate volume. We are going to have a small quiz on Friday 3/22 to check for understanding.
Next week we will calculate volume with addition and multiplication and we will introduce measurement into the mix!
Science: We've completed our physical science unit and are moving on to the sun and moon! I am so excited about our new unit for a couple of reasons. First, my background is in earth sciences and I love it so much! (I love all science but this has a special place in my heart). The other reason is that we will get to spend some time outside! YAY!
