First, a HUGE congratulations to AJ for winning the school oral reading contest! AJ did a fantastic job and we are all so proud of him!
Some important middle school information:
Middle School registration forms will be picked up on Monday at noon. Please bring the forms in Monday if you haven't already.
Science Extra Credit:
Create a 1-3 minute video in which you make a mixture, a solution, or show changes in properties (liquid to solid, liquid to gas, solid to liquid)
Be prepared to show it to the class and answer some questions!
Share with me on Google by Thursday morning (April 4th)
It is worth one quiz grade
The quarter ends on April 4th. We will spend sometime everyday making sure students have all of their work turned in. I will post grades Monday afternoon and give students progress reports to look over.
Here's what's going on next week:
Language Arts/Social Studies: We will wrap up a few things in our survival unit and should start Unit 7 on Wednesday.
Math: We are setting volume to the side for a few days and will practice geometry, specifically quadrilaterals! The kids really like this because we get to use geoboards and will have plenty of opportunities to draw, cut, and color shapes!
Science: The kids haven't seen it yet but some of us teachers made a sky lab in a vacant classroom! We made it as dark as possible and will use it to discover Earth's relationship with the sun.
I talked to the students briefly about moon phases today and let them know that they will have science homework April 15-18. They will make night time moon observations that week!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Important Dates:
4/4 End of Quarter 3
4/5 No School For Students
4/8-4/12 Spring Break
4/25 Math unit 6 assessment
5/27 No School For Students
5/31 Study Trip
